Quiz Information
Your first (and only) quiz in Block I will take place on Tuesday morning August 17th at between 8AM and 10:15AM in Auditorium B. Please arrive between 8AM and 9:30AM. You will complete the quiz online using your laptop computer in BBvista using the respondus lockdown browser. The quiz will cover material from your anatomy course, as well as PAP and clinical skills. There will be a total of 30 questions (25 anatomy; 5 from the other topics).
The following Anatomy topics will be covered on the quiz. Practice questions for both gross anatomy and microanatomy are available by going to the resources section of your website and bbvista site. Cell Biology, Embryology and Quintana self assessments will provide very relevant practice questions as well. Some questions may include images (e.g. radiographs, light and electron micrographs).
Be aware that the mid-block exam will include both material that was covered and not covered on the quiz.
Gross Anatomy
Back and Spinal Cord (Quiz will specifically cover the composition of spinal nerves and the morphology of the spinal cord, the general innervation to the muscles of the back, and the relationships between the bones of the vertebral column and the spinal cord. You will not be quizzed on muscle attachments and muscle functions, blood supply, nor the detailed morphology of the vertebral column at this time).
Radiology Basics (Be able to recognize different imaging modes and differentiate structures (e.g. bones; soft tissues; air) in each imaging mode)
Developmental Anatomy
Early Embryology (Quiz will cover the self-study material)
Microanatomy
Microanatomy basics (Understand the concept of the four tissue types )
Microscopy and Stains (Quiz will focus on which staining techniques are used to demonstrate which structures and why)
Epithelia and Glands
Integument (You are not responsible for knowing the detailed microanatomy of hair follicles or nails for the quiz, nor for the exam)
Cell Biology (You will only be tested on general organelle function, cytoskeleton, cell junctions, plasma membane specializations)
